Crossed taper roller bearings: the new favorite of high precision!

Crossed taper roller bearings consist of two rows of mutually perpendicular bearing raceways and rollers that exhibit unique structural characteristics. These rollers are arranged alternately on the raceways, making the assembly height of the bearing slightly higher than that of a single row taper roller bearing. At the same time, the tilting angle of the bearing raceways and the geometry of the tapered rollers work together to effectively prevent stress concentration problems.Crossed taper roller bearings have excellent high-precision characteristics, and their accuracy class can reach P2.

1. High Rigidity

This kind of bearings are designed with preload function, and the amount of preload can be flexibly adjusted to ensure optimal rigidity requirements.

The high speed rolling elements in this kind of bearings remain purely rolling during motion, which makes their limiting speed significantly higher than that of crossed cylindrical roller bearings.

4. Extremely low frictional torque and starting torque

Compared to crossed cylindrical roller bearings, the frictional torque of this kind of bearings is significantly lower, as is the starting torque.

5. Compact design

The compact design of these bearings requires only a small mounting space. This feature makes them particularly suitable for applications where space is limited, where the center of gravity of the rotating mass is strictly limited, and where high rotational speeds are required. Examples include precision circular indexing tables for machine tools, vertical and horizontal boring machines, vertical grinders, rotary surface grinders, vertical lathes, large hobbing machines, turrets, large telescopes (radio and optical), rotary cameras and industrial robots.
